Caring for Your Windows and Doors

Frame Cleaning

  • Use an absorbent, colour-neutral cloth and a commonly available household cleaning product.
  • Remove hardened dirt (plaster, mortar) using wooden or plastic scrapers and plenty of water.
  • Avoid using sharp objects (knives, scrapers, scouring pads) that may damage the surface.
  • Do not use products with abrasive components (dry, sandy), which can scratch the profile or the glass.
  • Do not use solvents and acids (toluene, acetone, petrol, acetic acid, etc.)—they may etch the surface of the profiles.

Window Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures long-lasting, trouble-free use. We recommend performing the following tasks regularly:

Clean (vacuum) the drainage channels and any clogged drain holes (1) (once a year).

For sliding and folding elements, clean the guide rails (once a year).

Seals

Inspect, clean, and lubricate the seals. Address any damage with a service technician (once a year).

Hardware

Hardware components must be lubricated regularly. Use oil for the sliding surfaces of the hardware. Technical grease for the locking pins and their frame counterparts (interlocking locking parts).

All hardware components must have only a thin oil film.

When cleaning the hardware, never use aggressive products containing acids, which could damage its anti-corrosion finish.

How to Lubricate the Hardware

Entrance Doors

Lubricate with a Teflon spray or graphite powder (twice a year).

Doors with a push (panic) bar

Lubricate the right and left hinges (1) and check that the screws are tightened (twice a year).

Adjusting and Operating Your Windows and Doors

Daily use and external influences (temperature changes, sunlight, etc.) may worsen the operation of your product. This mainly involves more difficult opening and closing, a stiffer handle movement, and similar issues. In most cases, however, this is not a defect, and the problem can be resolved with a simple adjustment or treatment.
