What is meant by the term aluminum Curtain wall?
It is a non-load-bearing external curtain wall of a building made of aluminum frames with glass, which transfers only its own weight and wind load to the supporting structure. In very simple terms, it is essentially a “glazed wall.”
Are aluminum curtain walls suitable for family homes and smaller projects?
Aluminum curtain walls are mostly used for high-rise buildings. In principle, nothing prevents their use for family homes as well. However, it must make sense and the designer must plan for the placement of the aluminum curtain wall in advance, creating details for anchoring and connection to the structure. Moreover, a curtain wall system is economically more demanding than a standard aluminum window (frame) system.
What are the main advantages of aluminum Curtain wall?
