FAQ - Custom Plastic Windows: Most Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Is Installation on Tapes Really Important?
Yes. Proper execution of the connection joint is equally important as the window itself for preventing heat loss, water tightness, sound insulation, and preventing mold formation. According to standard STN 73 3134, so-called three-zone installation is prescribed. Installation on tapes is one of the options we prefer for Slovak conditions.
How to Choose the Right Glazing (Double vs Triple Glazing)?
Triple glazing is now a necessity due to thermal insulation requirements and living comfort. Double glazing can be used for industrial buildings, garages, workshops and similar. Given the acquisition cost of a window, the surcharge for triple glazing and essentially twice the insulation properties is a good investment (price/performance).
What Affects the Uw Value and What Does It Mean for Heating Bills?
Uw is influenced by the profile system (Uf), glass selection (Ug), selection of spacer frame in the glass (psi), ratio of glass (Ug) to profiles (Uf) in a specific window. The lower the Uw value, the better the window’s thermal insulation properties.
